Mr. Punit Oza comes from a family of lawyers and has always held an amazing respect and fascination for the legal profession. Thus, when the Great Financial Crisis hit in 2008 and Punit’s employer at the time suggested to “upgrade my skills” and choose a professional qualification to pursue, Punit did not hesitate in choosing to do a law degree. “My entire career has been in the Dry Bulk Shipping sector and the most “common law” (forgive the pun) used in the shipping industry is English Law and therefore it was no coincidence that I chose to do LLB from the University of London.”

Completing the law degree, Punit thought that his interests in following up on legal developments would diminish, it did not. It was at this moment that Punit knew he wanted to contribute to teaching the subject matter. The subject most relevant to his profession was Conflict of Laws or Private International Law. Many cases in this subject involved shipping companies and therefore this was an automatic choice. It has been four years and he has enjoyed and continues to enjoy the ITC atmosphere. “It is truly motivating and inspiring
